Monday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

An anticyclone to the east of New Zealand is slowly moving away while a northeasterly airflow increases over both islands.

Cloud can be expected in many eastern places with northeasterly breezes, mostly sunny weather often in inland areas of both Islands and Southland. The West Coast of the South Island and Nelson can expect mostly sunny weather to continue with light winds. There may be some drizzle at times during the day along the East Coast of the North Island, areas of rain in Northland spread into Auckland later at night as northeasterlies freshen there.

Temperatures will range from the mid teens in Northland and Auckland down to high single figures about Southland and Otago, a pleasant 12 to 13 degrees can be expected about Greymouth and Hokitika however.
