A high sits in the Tasman Sea today while a westerly quarter airflow flows over the country. Most regions are settled with plenty of sun and warm weather, just the far south of the South Island could see a few showers about this morning.

this morning with west to northwest winds, winds tend southerly around midday
then move quickly to the east this afternoon bringing a few clouds.
Sunny areas and some cloud with west to northwest winds for most. Some rain
about Fiordland moves into South Westland by evening however rain will have
eased to only a few showers.

Coastal Otago
Winds change southwest this morning bringing some cloud and the risk of a
shower, remaining mostly cloudy this afternoon.
A few spells of rain possible this morning with northwesterly winds, sunny
spells develop in the afternoon as winds tend southwest. There is the chance a
brief shower or two may continue into the afternoon otherwise mainly dry weather
is expected midday onwards.
A few morning showers as southwesterlies develop, sunny spells in the
afternoon.
