A westerly airflow lies over the country today, sunny and warm for eastern regions. Also pleasant weather for Auckland, Northland and the Bay Of Plenty. Rain pushes north for the West Coast of the South Island.

Northland

Mostly sunny weather with light winds and afternoon sea breezes.

Highs: 20-22

Auckland

Any morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, southwesterly breezes
develop.

High: 19

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with westerly winds.

High: 22

Waikato & Central North Island

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, westerly winds.

High: 20

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds.

Highs: 22-23

Western North Island

A chance of some morning drizzle any of which clears then expect sunny
spells this afternoon, west to northwesterly winds.

Highs: 17-19

Wellington

Periods of cloud with north to northwesterly winds building during the
day.

High: 18

Nelson

Mostly sunny with southwesterly winds tending north to northwest this
afternoon.

High: 22

Marlborough

Sunny areas and some high cloud, light winds freshen from the northwest in
the afternoon.

Highs: 25-26

Canterbury

Sunny areas and some high cloud, east to northeast winds near the coast.
Northwesterlies freshen inland.

Highs: 22-24

West Coast

Mostly cloudy with rain in Fiordland spreading northwards during the day to
reach North Westland late afternoon / evening. Rain could be heavy at times.
Northwesterlies freshen.

Highs: 16-17

Coastal Otago
Sunny areas
this morning with northeast winds, a few showers move in late afternoon /
evening.

High: 18

Central Otago

Sunny areas and high cloud with light winds, a few showers mainly afternoon
in the south and far western parts of the region, mainly dry elsewhere.

Highs: 16-18

Southland

Morning sunny areas then a few showers develop this afternoon, light
westerly winds.

High: 15
