Certainly not a summers day in the far south of New Zealand today, Invercargill and Dunedin for example are not likely to break 12 to 14 degrees respectively. So certainly a cold one. The culprit is a strong southwesterly airflow that lies over the country, it’s air originating deep down from the Southern Ocean.
