A ridge brings mainly settled conditions to the South Island tonight. Breezy south to southeasterly winds cover the North Island bringing rain to northern and eastern regions. Rain for northern regions eases later this evening / overnight, heavy downpours may continue about the Coromandel.

Periods of cloud, the odd shower possible (mainly in the west) otherwise dry. Southerly winds.

Auckland

Areas of rain ease overnight to showers, rain about the Coromandel may be heavy at times. Southerly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Bay Of Plenty

Rain eases to the odd shower this evening, southerly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Waikato & Central North Island

Cloudy with occasional showers, easing later this evening and clearing for
some. The odd shower may remain. Southeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 7

Eastern North Island

Periods of rain with breezy southeasterlies, the Wairarapa sees long dry
spells with only some drizzle now and then.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Western North Island

Plenty of high cloud with breezy easterlies, winds tend more southeast
about Taranaki. Chance of a spot of rain out there this evening otherwise mainly
dry.

Wellington

Periods of cloud with southeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 8

Nelson

Mainly clear with some high cloud, light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 3-4

Marlborough

Periods of cloud with southeasterly winds, easing overnight. Chance of some
brief overnight drizzle.

Canterbury

Cloudy periods with light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 3-4

West Coast

Clear skies with light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 1-2

Coastal Otago

Mainly clear skies with light winds, there may be a few clouds about
overnight.

Central Otago

Mainly clear skies with light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: -1-0

Southland

Mainly clear skies with light winds, a few coastal clouds.

Tonight’s Lows: 0-1
