A northeasterly airflow lies over the country tonight, increasing about the upper North Island. Expect high cloud to spread to most regions overnight. A few light showers or drizzle patches affect Auckland northwards and parts of the South Island’s West Coast overnight

Northland

Cloudy with increasing northeasterlies, patchy showers or drizzle.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Auckland

Cloudy with breezy to brisk easterly winds, the odd drizzle patch about
especially in the north.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy areas with easterly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Waikato & Central North Island

Cloudy areas about the Waikato, some high cloud increasing about the
Central North Island overnight. Easterly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 1-7

Eastern North Island

Clear spells, areas of cloud increasing overnight. Light winds.

Tonight’s Low: 2-4

Western North Island

Mainly clear skies this evening, some high cloud moves in later. Easterly
winds. Mostly cloudy about Taranaki, especially in the north with easterlies
freshening a little overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 4-6

Wellington

Mainly clear skies this evening, some overnight high cloud. Easterly
winds.

Tonight’s Low: 5

Nelson

Plenty of high cloud with light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 3-4

Marlborough

Clear skies at first this evening however expect some increasing cloud,
light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 2-3

Canterbury

Mainly clear with some high cloud, light northeasterlies. Calm for inland
areas

Tonight’s Lows: 0-2

West Coast

Mainly clear skies about South Westland with easterly winds, some cloud
overnight brings a few showers. About North Westland areas of cloud increase
this evening bringing a few showers then clearing around midnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 4-5

Southland & Otago

Mainly clear skies, some high cloud overnight. Light east to northeast
winds.

Tonight’s Lows: -2-5
