Temperatures already this morning are nudging the mid 20s with Timaru on 24 degrees with a nor’ wester.

Oamaru is on 21, Dunedin 20 and Napier and Hastings on 19 degrees.

The wind is picking up in strength with Wellington seeing a northerly peaking at 90kph, Gore has a nor’ wester gusting 80 and Christchurch is 70kph.

It will be great when our temperatures exceed the same number in windspeed (average type wind speeds though) or mm of rain.

…we have reached 23 deg, with a mainly light nor’wester; the nor’west arch is presently breaking up giving us weak but pleasant sunshine through a thin veil of Cirrus…blue skies just south of CH ,so can see why Timaru hitting 24deg….8 – D
