Melbourne shivers this morning

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Temperatures plummeted in Melbourne overnight, realizing the coldest readings since September.

According to Weatherzone.com.au, the city fell to low of 5.7 C just before 8am and highs today are expected to be around 17.

Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology says this is likely to be the end of the cold weather for a while.  They are forecasting afternoon highs to return to the 20’s tomorrow.  BOM says overnight lows will likely get above 10 starting on Wednesday morning, and stay there for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

Models indicate a low currently developing off the coast of Western Australia will swing a cold front through Victoria as soon as Sunday.  This could makes things rather chilly next week with overnight lows falling back into the single digits.  Daytime highs are likely to not get above 20.
