It’s the last full weekend of March and has this month been better overall so far in your part of the country compared to the whole of February or has it been similar or perhaps a tad more soggy?.
Summer was average for many places but has the first month of Autumn been much better?.
The North Island seems to have copped the wettest conditions whereas parts of the South Island seem to have escaped the worst of the weather with just a week to go in March.
This is just our overall impression but how do you think the two months compare?.

Used to get my hay in before Xmas – this year found 4 sunny days beginning of March – got hay in barn then 1/2 hour later it p******d down! That was the last 4 day break from the rain I was aware of around here, and that was right on the edge, thank goodness I shut my hay away late!

It’s hard to tell – the whole summer has merged into one big grey blob in my mind. *sigh*

…AS BAD AS EACH OTHER. Spring, summer and now autumn have been total crap to say the least. Let’s hope winter will come up trumps and deal out some half-decent weather. Don’t hold your breath though…

Both poor. February wascloudier (not by much though unless we get several more sunny days next week), but March has been considerably wetter. The whole “daylight saving season” (Oct-Mar) has been very poor here with the exception of November, and record low sun tallies will be set for Jan-March, Dec-Feb and Oct-Mar. At least the 12-month running total of sun is not threatening any records yet.

March has been best by far in Dunedin. We’ve had weeks of sunshine!

We had less SW events in february so in my view better than march though march we had some sunny days.
