New Zealand has some rain this weekend, a little snow in the mountains but generally speaking many regions will be warmer than average despite a cool start for some today.
We have areas of rain this weekend and large areas of dry too – in fact the rain is so patchy and broken up it is a little hard to lock in, so the rainfall map below is better at giving people a general idea as to where the bulk of the rain clouds will lie. Some regions may have “rain” in the forecast but only very low rainfall totals.
Temperatures are mostly above normal for this time of year by day, although some in the east of the South Island today (mainly coastal Canterbury) are little below normal for a time.
