Temperatures are expected to near freezing tonight over parts of the South Island.
Timaru is looking at around 2 degrees, Ashburton 3, along with Alexandra, Gore and Invercargill. That’s about 4 or 5 degrees below average and the risk of frost is there in eastern and southern parts of the island.
