Earlier today we asked a question to our Facebook readers whether they were loving the summer or wanting rain and here are a few responses.

“Def loving the Summer weather and so are the boys, don’t think we have ever had the paddling pool out so much. But would love some rain as well, had a little bit on Sunday, but not nearly enough…” said Alannah.

Rob Holding was a little tongue in cheek with his reply…”You want to know which we would prefer because you have the power to give the people what they want? Hmmm. I don’t think so. (But I do know someone who can make it rain or not rain whenever he pleases. )

Ed’s note – That’s good to know Rob and only if we had the power….

Michelle was a little happy about some liquid sunshine earlier..OK so finally got some rain about three this morning in Kauri Whangarei!! Today looking very overcast with a light wind !”

Natalie mentioned “Summer has been great this year, but rain overnight would be much appreciated”.
Lee was thinking along a similar vein..”Loving the summer but the farmers are needing the rain. Reminds me of summers 30 yrs ago”.

Jaime was thinking of the colder months ahead “Loving it here in Stokes Valley Wellington. Just the thought of Winter and the rain, cold and wind it brings is depressing”.

Gail has been wanting to renovate however the weather hasn’t been playing fair…”I am loving the summer (especially after last years disappointment) but one weekend of rain would be helpful! We decided we would do the indoor work that needed to be done on the next rainy weekend…. and haven’t had one since!”

Andrea thought she was whining a little but there’s a few that agreed with her.” Sorry to “moan” but need rain to make grass grow so animals have feed. They tend to get a bit sad otherwise”.

We always appreciate your comments and it’s been a mixed response. It seems though that overnight rain with sunny, warm days could be a great compromise.
