The South Island has a rapid warm up today with some places jumping 15 degrees above where they were just on Thursday.
Over Saturday and Sunday most regions will be warmer than average for this time of the year by a few to several degrees or even more.
But by Monday there’s a slightly cooler air flow that gets into the mix and while no regions will be below normal many more regions will have average temperatures today. It’s still leaning warmer than average for many places though, meaning overall Labour Weekend is warmer than average this year across New Zealand.
To make sense of this forecast for specifically where you are this long weekend, visit RuralWeather.co.nz – it has more New Zealand weather data than any other website on earth and both Government forecasters combined. Check it out today (please note first time users may take 10 seconds for the page to open – we’re working on a fix for this in the near future!).
