Lions vs NZ at Eden Park tonight – The very latest weather forecast:

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Updated 3:40pm — Tonight is the final test with the Lions against New Zealand at Eden Park and everyone is asking about the forecast. It’s been amazing series and tonight will likely be the most watched.

The chance of showers is now fairly low – we can’t rule out a remaining downpour but the forecast is for long dry areas to continue into this evening.

Latest guidance suggests sometime around 9 to 11pm we may be seeing showers increasing with rain nearby to the west.

If you look at the hourly forecasts (click below for the very latest update) you can see how the % of rain ticks up quite a bit the later we go into the night. At 9pm, in the second half of the game, it’s classically around 50%! (which is actually a moderate risk..but yes, it can be also argued it’s 50/50)

So at this stage it looks mostly dry for the game – but a chance of showers increases towards the end of the second half.

Have a great night – and it’s been really awesome hosting the Lions and all their fans in New Zealand – we hope the weather has been at least equal to a UK Summer (Joke, we’re well aware London has been in the low to mid 30s lately!)

9pm Forecast Rain Radar shows showers more likely later in the evening – but the main rain band should hold off until after the rugby is over.

Just seen that today is the 9th day in a row with recorded rainfall in Auckland. Metservice says another 5 are coming as well. What a horrid place those people have up there. No wonder the Lions went to Queenstown for a bit. Please don’t rain tonight – come on Auckland, surely you can get one of your 3 games through without rain!!
