Saturday
A front moving from west to east over the North Island during the day may bring a period of heavy rain then easing. It shouldn’t cause too many if any issues, overnight the front stalls a little about southern Hawkes Bay / northern Wairarapa and may bring a more sustained period of rain.
Purple – Southerlies freshen through Cook Strait overnight becoming gusty. Northwesterlies about the upper North Island becoming gusty from late afternoon, strong about some coastal areas.
Sunday
Rain for the East Coast of the North Island may be slow moving bringing the chance of heavy falls, still a little uncertain at this point in time. Patchy showers or drizzle for the South Island’s East Coast for much of the day.
Gusty south to southeasterly winds through Cook Strait don’t ease till overnight. northwesterlies about coastal parts of the upper North Island ease from afternoon.
