An anticyclone covers New Zealand for the next three days, unstable conditions may develop for parts of the North Island during the afternoons.
Tuesday
Blue – Late afternoon / evening showers about the upper North Island may become heavy then clearing later on. Low risk of a thunderstorm.
Isolated showers may develop late afternoon / evening about some inland parts of the upper South Island also, especially Buller. The thunderstorm risk is not present however.
Wednesday
Isolated showers late afternoon / evening about the upper North Island (mainly inland), a chance one or two may become heavy with the low risk of a thunderstorm.
Isolated showers may develop about the interior of the South Island also late afternoon / evening.
Thursday
Heavy showers with possible thunderstorms developing in the afternoon for the upper North Island on Thursday. Afternoon high’s reach into the mid twenties for the lower South Island.
