A ridge lies over much of the country today, the airflow coming in from the northeast over the North Island and northwest for the South Island. A north to northwesterly airflow lies over the country on Friday and Saturday.
Thursday
Blue – A light frost for some this morning, a little heavier about the Central North Island. Watch for a risk of fog this morning from Auckland through to the Central North Island.
Friday
Blue – Chance of a light frost for the upper South Island inland, also the Central North Island.
Showers about Fiordland may be heavy at times.
Chance patch of fog about northeastern parts of the North Island in the morning then breaking away.
Saturday
A risk of fog for some northeastern parts of the North Island once again on Saturday morning. Rain heavy about Fiordland, especially from afternoon.
