Today sees a weakening front move off the top of the South Island this morning then onto the lower North Island, westerlies cover the country on Wednesday with a reinvigorated front bringing some rain to the west of the North Island from afternoon. Settled for most on Thursday apart from rain about Auckland northwards gradually clearing, northerlies build overnight.
Tuesday
Blue – Early heavy rain about North Westland eases away.
Purple – Gusty northwesterly winds about Cook Strait ease this afternoon.
Wednesday
Blue – Rain moves onto Taranaki / the Central North Island in the afternoon then eases evening, this rain may be heavy for a time. Rain for Northland may become heavy overnight.
Thursday
Blue – Rain for the West Coast of the South Island moves in overnight, becoming heavy towards dawn on Friday.
Purple – Northeasterly winds about coastal Fiordland becoming strong overnight.
