A northeasterly airflow continues to plauge the country on Tuesday however there may be signs of improvement for some.
About Northland and Auckland, areas of cloud and some sun, during the afternoon cloud may build a little bringing the risk of isolated showers one or two of which may be heavy then clearing in the evening. Winds are mainly light. The Waikato sees a few morning showers clear then a few more may develop again in the afternoon, mainly in the west.
Cloudy along the east coast with patchy drizzle, rain for Gisborne continues with the odd heavy fall possible. Winds may be gusty from the east about the Gisborne coastline also. Mainly cloudy skies out west although fairly dry apart from Taranaki which may see a few showers.
A mix of cloud and sun for Nelson and down the West Coast of the South Island, there may be a shower or two about also mainly in the afternoon. Marlborough is fairly cloudy with drizzle and easterlies. Canterbury sees the odd shower or drizzle patch then becoming drier in the afternoon with some sun even possible, an isolated shower or two may develop about the foothills late afternoon / early evening however.
Coastal Otago sees mainly cloudy skies, morning drizzle clears. Sunny areas elsewhere about Southland and Central Otago, watch for afternoon isolated showers however (mainly inland or about hills / ranges) which clear in the evening.
