A weakening front moves off the top of the South Island tomorrow morning then onto the lower North Island in the afternoon. this mainly brings showers or rain in the west.
For the upper North Island skies are mostly cloudy in the west, a few showers about Taranaki through to Kapiti from around midday, possibly affecting Wellington too. Northland and the Bay Of Plenty have a greater chance of sun however. Gisborne through to Wairarapa has mainly sunny skies, light winds for most.
Early rain eases about North Westland then clears with some sun developing later in the afternoon. Morning cloud about South Westland clears to mostly sunny conditions. A few morning showers for Southland and Otago then afternoon sunny spells, there is the chance of an isolated shower remaining about inland eastern Otago through the afternoon. Canterbury starts off with sun and some high cloud then cloud thickens in the afternoon as light southerlies tend easterly.
Marlborough excluding the Sounds has sun and some high cloud, light winds tend easterly during the afternoon.
