A ridge sits of the lower South Island tomorrow while cold southerlies cover the rest of New Zealand, however these southerlies will gradually ease.
Mostly sunny for the west of the North Island tomorrow, some cloud at times especially mid afternoon onwards. Winds fairly cool from the south. A few showers may affect Northland however especially in the west. The east of the North Island is mainly cloudy with showers, snow flurries to 400m gradually lift to 600m by evening. A few showers affect southern Taranaki also.
The South Island is mainly sunny along the West Coast, Southland and about Otago after any morning cloud clears. Canterbury sees a few morning showers clear then cloud breaks to sunny areas in the afternoon, parts of North Canterbury and southern Marlborough however see a few showers for much of the day with snow flurries to 300m lifting to 500m at night.
Mainly sunny weather about Nelson.
Also watch for a frosty start about the inner South Island.
