A ridge of high pressure extends out from an anticyclone in the Tasman Sea covering most of New Zealand today and on Thursday, southeasterlies about the far north.
Fairly settled across most of New Zealand today, a few showers continue to push into Northland (especially in the east) and perhaps East Cape at times in a southeasterly airflow. Some coastal cloud as indicated below for some regions.
Another mainly settled day on Thursday, cold to start with mostly sunny weather on the way. Just watch for those few showers about eastern Northland and Coromandel, also southern Fiordland at the other end of the country.
