An anticyclone covers New Zealand on Wednesday bringing mainly settled weather, a weakening front moves onto the lower South Island overnight.

Mostly sunny for the North Island on Wednesday, some cloud about coastal areas especially in the morning. A risk of morning fog or mist about some inland spots also.

The South Island has sunny areas and some high cloud, low to mid level cloud about some coastal areas especially morning then breaking away. Light winds for most then afternoon sea breezes.
