Mainly anticyclonic and settled today, a large low way offshore to the east gradually moves away. An anticyclone still brings mainly settled weather to New Zealand on Wednesday, a weakening front pushing into this high brings a few showers to the southwestern corner of the South Island however.
A risk of morning fog for many parts of the North Island this morning mainly just inland away from the coast. Mostly sunny with a touch of high cloud after any low cloud or fog clears. Sunny areas and some high cloud for the South Island, plenty of morning cloud about coastal areas then breaking away. Risk of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening about inland parts of the lower South Island.
Areas of morning cloud break away to mostly sunny weather and some high cloud for the North Island on Wednesday, there could be some fog to start about inland areas. Increasing cloud for the west of the South Island, showers move into Fiordland during the morning then push a little further northwards in the afternoon. A few spots may spread into Southland and Otago during the afternoon and evening otherwise staying mainly dry. Morning cloud in the east breaks to sunny areas and some high cloud.
