Northwesterlies lie over the North Island today meanwhile a front slowly makes inroads for the South Island, mainly affecting the West Coast with some rain. Frontal zones continue to affect the South Island on Wednesday with heavy rain in the west, northwesterlies for the North Island with mainly settled conditions.

A mix of sun and cloud for most western and northern parts of the North Island today, sunny for the east coast with warm afternoon temperatures. Cloudy for the West Coast of the South Island with rain and a few heavy falls, mainly dry in the east however Southland sees a few patchy showers or some rain. Otago may see a shower from afternoon.

Sunny spells for the west and north of the North Island on Wednesday, sunny and warm out east. Heavy rain for the West Coast of the South Island, mainly dry in the east with high cloud. Southland and Otago has patchy rain or drizzle.
