A southwesterly airflow gradually tilts to the west today then to the northwest on Wednesday.
A few showers for most western regions today, sunnier out east with a touch of high cloud possible for the eastern North Island. Southland is mainly cloudy with the odd shower.
A similar story once again on Wednesday with a few showers in the west, rain about Fiordland may become heavy from afternoon. Some rain also moves into the Taranaki / Central North Island area in the evening. Mainly sunny conditions out east.
