A front over the North Island slows down and weakens today meanwhile conditions are more settled further south. An anticyclone covers most of New Zealand on Friday.
Some rain or showers moving northwards over the North Island during today, clearing about the lower North Island in the morning. More settled and sunny for the South Island, a shower or two during the day for Southland.
Mostly sunny for the western North Island on Friday, some cloud in the northeast brings a shower or two, Auckland and Northland may cloud up after a mainly sunny start. The South Island has mostly sunny weather with some high cloud. Some cloud about Southland breaks away in the afternoon, coastal cloud for Otago afternoon onwards in the east.
