InfoGraphic: The Big Picture for Saturday / Sunday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A ridge of high pressure lies over the North Island on Saturday, northwesterlies further south. A similar pattern for Sunday.

Some fog or low cloud possible for upper North Island areas on Saturday morning and again overnight, especially inland. Expect a mix of sun and cloud otherwise, perhaps an isolated shower or two also. The east coast of the country is mainly sunny. Mostly cloudy for the South Island’s West Coast with areas of rain for South Westland, light showers further north.

A similar story once again on Sunday, the risk of a shower or two for northeastern areas eases though. A light shower or two possible for the southwestern corner of the North Island. The east coast of New Zealand once again is mainly dry and sunny, expect some high cloud for the eastern South Island. The West Coast has some rain.
