A low pressure system lies over the North Island on Saturday meanwhile conditions are more settled further south. A southerly quarter airflow lies over the country on Sunday.
Most North Island regions see showers on Saturday but expect plenty of dry areas also, some morning heavy rain in the northeast eases. Fairly settled for the South Island however expect some mid or high level cloud, showers move onto the lower South Island from afternoon.
A southerly quarter airflow brings cloudy areas with patchy rain or drizzle to the east of New Zealand on Sunday, drier conditions out west with some mid or high level cloud.
