An anticyclone lies over most of New Zealand on Saturday bringing mainly settled weather, a southeasterly airflow moving around this high brings a few showers to the North Islands east coast and Northland however. This high covers the country on Sunday.

A few showers at times for the east of the North Island and Northland on Saturday, especially in the east. Mostly sunny for the rest of the North Island. The South Island is sunny, some morning cloud about Southland and the Catlins breaks away.

Quite sunny across most of New Zealand on Sunday, morning cloud for the eastern North Island breaks away. A few morning showers for Gisborne also.
