InfoGraphic: The Big Picture for Friday / Saturday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Mainly anticyclonic over New Zealand today, conditions are mostly settled but there will be areas of cloud about for some. Eastern regions get the best weather. A northwesterly airflow starts to make inroads over the South Island on Saturday.

Some fog or low cloud possible for upper North Island areas this morning and overnight, especially inland. Expect a mix of sun and cloud otherwise, perhaps an isolated shower or two also. The east coast of the country is mainly sunny. The West Coast of the South Island is cloudiest in the south, showers for Fiordland.

A similar outlook for the country on Saturday, looking cloudier for the South Island’s West Coast with areas of rain starting to move a little further northwards. Some high cloud out east.
