A low and combined cold front rotates onto New Zealand during Friday, coming in from the Tasman Sea.
Wet weather for most western regions on Friday however this time rain will be heavy for some western North Island areas and the top of the South Island. Perhaps even a thunderstorm in the afternoon about Northland. The eastern North Island has a dry morning then some rain spreads from the west mid to late afternoon, clearing later in the evening.
Dry at first for the eastern South Island, the odd spit or shower is possible from midday then rain with heavy falls moves into Marlborough by evening. Rain moves into Canterbury by late evening.
