A ridge keeps conditions settled over the North Island on Friday, northwesterlies over the South Island bring hot temperatures in the east and some rain to Fiordland.
Further mainly sunny and settled weather continues for the North Island on Friday, just some cloud about Kapiti / Wellington.
A few morning showers clear the West Coast of the South Island then sunny areas develop, showers linger about Fiordland turning to rain in the afternoon and becoming heavy. This heavy rain then spreads northwards overnight. Out east it’s warmer and drier with some high cloud.
