Incredible May warmth begins in Auckland & Christchurch

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Finding it warm today? Perhaps even hot? Temperatures this afternoon are well into the mid-20s across parts of New Zealand, in particular the north and east of the country as day two of a ten-day warm spell begins.

Private weather stations across New Zealand are recording temperatures in the low to mid-20s, and a few are creeping above the mid-20s.

In the past hour, out at the airport, Christchurch has reached 24 degrees – but weather stations in the city, around more roading and concrete, are showing 25, 26 and even 27 degrees.

In Auckland temperatures are around 22 degrees at the airport but warmer in the central city.

Below are the 2:15pm observations in both Auckland and Christchurch.

**Please note, later this year WeatherWatch.co.nz hopes to be displaying all of these current observations from across the Wunderground network with each station clickable to access. We’re currently working on it!
