The weather this winter has been wetter and warmer so far with few frosts and plenty of rain.
However this week a large high from Australia changed that taking frosts right up to the Far North.
We want to know, compared to other winters, how are you enjoying this one?

Winter this year in Christchurch has been really wet. If its going to be wet and grotty it could at least snow! I do enjoy a good southerly. At least this last week we have seen some sunshine and a few good frosts. Hope Ken Rings prediction of a good snow dump in August are correct!!

Not really enjoying Winter in Christchurch. It was fairly wet and dull for a weeks but now generally boring, dull and uneventful.
I am looking forward to some exciting weather, thunderstorms, but especially want a big snowfall this year! But would like a few more warm sunny days too please!

I haven’t really felt that cold yet this winter, but would love to see a bit more sunny days even if they are colder.
We had a good frost here on Monday, and I was wondering if W.Watch could do a blog on frosts and what sort of weather set’s up a good frost ? ie post southerly, and why do we get a much worse frost closer to the sea than closer to the hill here in Waikanae when the Tararua Range is right over the back of the hill.? I thought we would be less sheltered here and not get the frosts as bad??
Always good to know a frost is due so I can get out with my frost cloth and cover my special plants etc.

Winters not been too bad….. well Im a pom so Im gonna think this is nice!! :o) Our tanks now have plenty of water in them…. everywhere is nice and green now, the citrus trees are laden, and my horse has plenty to eat in his field. The lovely sunny days this week have been great….. thats the thing I love about being just here…. even in the winter when the sun is out it feels warm….. unlike England when its just flippin cold even in the sun. I have to admit to looking forward to Springtime though as its my favourite time of year!

I have been enjoying the winter sun, after the cold mornings. We only had a small amount of ice on the roof top so far. All the rain we have had has been worrying though, after near drought conditions – It’s kinda like Nature was trying to overcompensate? I live in Tauranga. 🙂

Shouldn’t that read, ‘…taking frosts as far north as the Far North’ ? 🙂

Hasn’t started really as far as cold is concerned though rain is about average for winter now.
