Hot and unstable – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre outlook on Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

An area of instability is developing from Northland, right through to the Bay Of Plenty, bringing a chance of heavy isolated showers and possible thunderstorms with it.

Apart from Northland, showers afflict eastern parts of Auckland and the Bay of Plenty, and also fall in the Waikato.
Parts of these regions will see more rain than others, as is the nature of this unstable rain-bearing cloud, so not everyone will get a good dumping.

It will be another hot day for eastern parts of both islands, with high temperatures all over the North Island in general.

Main Centres

Auckland

A fine, warm day in Auckland, with temperatures in the mid 20s, and just the odd spot of cloud here and there to speak of – clear in the evening too.

Wellington

Cooler and breezier in the capital, with a high in the early 20s accompanied by some gusty northwest winds.

Christchurch

Hot and windy at times in Christchurch, with gusty northwesterlies and a top temperature near or into the 30s – keep the sunscreen handy if you’re outside!
