High temps tonight down south

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Although the sun has now set, temperatures remain on the high side in some inland areas in the south.
Alexandra is still a hot 29, Wanaka isn’t too far behind on 28 and Queenstown is a balmy 24.

Overnight the temperatures should fall away into the mid teens before climbing into the 30s again tomorrow in Alex, Cromwell and Wanaka.

The pattern is set to continue on Saturday but a cooling off trend is likely by Sunday and Monday but the thermometer shouldn’t drop much below the mid 20s.
