Nor’ westers were strong and blustery today and temperatures peaked in the high 20s with Timaru on 27 degrees.
Tonight, Hastings is still warm on 23 degrees, Whangarei 22 and Napier on 21.
A cool southerly change has moved up the east of the mainland seeing todays top temperatures almost cut in half.
