High pressure, clear skies – The Big Picture on Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure covers most of New Zealand on Thursday, spreading out from a high in the Tasman Sea.

In a word, our weather is looking pretty settled heading towards the weekend, mostly sunny conditions for much of  the country, along with light winds.

An easterly airflow lies over Northland, bringing some cloudy skies, while rain and showers sit just offshore to the east, but spread inland late in the afternoon and into the evening.
