Guy Fawkes forecast, Thurs, Fri, Sat nights

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Guy Fawkes celebrations should be able to proceed in most places this evening but if conditions aren’t perfect tonight, they will be tomorrow and Saturday, according to WeatherWatch.co.nz.

Head weather analyst Philip Duncan says a fairly weak cold front is moving over the North Island today and should clear this evening.  “Places like Auckland, Waikato and Taupo should see rain easing to drizzle and perhaps clearing altogether during this evening.  It may take a little longer to clear in Northland and Bay of Plenty but either way conditions will be improving tonight”.

In Wellington strong winds may affect plans and in Southland and Otago Mother Nature may have her own fireworks display with thunderstorms possible as a front zips through later on.

But with Guy Fawkes on a Thursday night this year what does the weekend forecast look like for those who can’t celebrate tonight?  “Well it’s good news all around with sunnier, drier and calmer weather forecast for both Friday and Saturday nights.  If tonight doesn’t work the next two nights should be perfect” says Mr Duncan.

“It’s very typical November weather, not as violent as October but still very unsettled”.

WeatherWatch.co.nz says no matter where you are conditions will be a little cooler over the coming nights with temperatures in the mid to upper single digits for many.
