Here’s what is making the weather headlines today…..
NEW ZEALAND AGRICULTURAL SHOW, DRY THEN RAIN
If you are going to the show today and would prefer not to deal with rain then best go this morning and early afternoon, mid afternoon a southwest change blows through with thickening cloud then some rain. Thankfully the rain moves in towards the end of the show rather than first thing.
Enjoy the show if you go along and perhaps take a jacket or brolly if hanging around a bit later into this afternoon.
MID TWENTIES FOR NORTHLAND, COLD FOR SOUTHLAND / OTAGO
Warm temperatures today in the east and north, the eastern South Island will see things cool down this afternoon as a southwest change moves through.
Parts of Northland may reach into the mid twenties.
Meanwhile Southland will be in the low double figure arena (11 to 12 degrees).
AFTERNOON HEAT SHOWERS NEXT WEEK
High pressure brings mainly settled conditions next week however inland parts of both Islands may experience isolated showers later in the afternoons.
These showers show in the image below for Central Otago then stretching north into the Mackenzie Country, for the North Island these showers are about Waikato.
