A westerly quarter airflow lies over the country today, expect showers or rain in the west, drier weather in the east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty Partly cloudy with a few showers, Bay Of Plenty has a mainly dry day. Fresh west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 15 – 17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy with a shower or two, showers more frequent in the afternoon then easing evening. Fresh westerlies.
Highs: 9 – 16

Eastern North Island

Any morning cloud clears then mostly sunny, some cloud later in the day. Westerlies.
Highs: 17 – 19

Wellington

Partly cloudy, a spit possible in the afternoon. Northwesterlies change to the south later in the day.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson

Partly cloudy for Nelson, sunny for Marlborough with some high cloud later in the day. Westerly winds.
Highs: 16 – 19

Canterbury

Mostly sunny, a few clouds in the afternoon as light winds tend to the south.
Highs: 14 – 17

West Coast

Rain eases to showers in the afternoon, southwesterlies.
Highs: 13 – 15

Southland & Otago
Mostly cloudy with the odd spit or shower for Southland. Any showers for Central Otago clear in the morning (more so in the west) then sunny spells. Coastal Otago sees any early showers clear then sunny, further spits possible later in the day. Westerlies, fresh about coastal areas, easing later in the day.
