Friday’s national forecast – Settled for a time (+8 maps)

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Conditions are mainly settled over New Zealand today but a front closing in from the Tasman Sea brings rain to western regions either in the evening or overnight.

Mainly dry for most of New Zealand today, we do see clearing morning showers for the eastern North Island though. The odd shower for Fiordland from afternoon then turning to rain before spreading northwards along the coast. Rain for the western North Island later this evening or overnight.

Northeasterlies become a bit blustery about some South Island coastal areas this afternoon. Strong to gale about the Fiordland coastline.
