Mainly settled across much of New Zealand today thanks to a ridge of high pressure, quite frosty this morning especially about inland areas. Morning showers for the eastern North Island clear.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, morning showers for western Northland clear. Cloud thickens later in the day, the odd shower overnight in the west. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 12 – 14

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Partly cloudy, chance of a shower otherwise mainly dry. Overnight showers for Taranaki. Light winds.
Highs: 5 – 13

Eastern North Island

Morning showers clear then mostly sunny, showers may linger a bit longer for Mahia Peninsula and Gisborne, clearing afternoon. Fresh southwesterlies.
Highs: 11 – 14

Wellington

Any early cloud clears then sunny, southerlies tend northerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 10 – 11

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny, light winds.
Highs: 9 – 12

Canterbury
Mostly sunny, a touch of high cloud. Light east to northeast winds.
Highs: 8 – 10

West Coast

Partly cloudy with light winds. Showers at night for Fiordland.
Highs: 9 – 11

Southland & Otago
Partly cloudy, a few spits possible in the afternoon and evening for Southland. Northerly winds, tending northeast in the afternoon for coastal Otago.
Highs: 7 – 10
