A high in the Tasman Sea starts to push in over the South Island today, a south to southwest airflow over the North Island eases.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, isolated showers in the afternoon / evening for Northland thanks to some lower level instability. Southerly winds, perhaps more of a sea breeze in the afternoon about coastal parts.
Highs: 22-24
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud, a shower or two may move through in the morning, clearing early afternoon. Southerly winds (fresh about the coast) die out in the evening.
Highs: 16-22
Eastern North Island Early rain eases to showers, showers few and far between by evening. Sunny spells break through at times. Gusty southwesterlies strong about the coast ease later in the day.

Wellington
Morning showers clear then sunny spells increase, gusty southerlies ease later in the day.
Highs: 17-20
Marlborough & Nelson
A mix of sun and cloud, cloud thickens later in the day. Morning southerlies, afternoon easterlies for Marlborough, afternoon northerlies for Nelson.
Highs: 21-23
Canterbury
A mix of sun and cloud, morning coastal showers clear. South to southwesterly winds, dying out in the evening.
Highs: 20-24
West Coast
Mostly sunny with some high cloud from afternoon, there could be an isolated shower about the ranges of South Westland later in the day. Light winds.
Highs: 23-27
Southland & Otago
A mix of sun and cloud, inland areas have a mostly sunny day. Light winds tending to the south in the afternoon.
