A high pushes in over the South Island today bringing settled weather, a few showers remain for the eastern North Island but these are on the way out.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with southerly winds, some cloud for western areas overnight.
Highs: 12-14

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, some cloud for Taranaki and the Central Plateau. Southerly quarter winds.
Highs: 6-12

Eastern North Island

Showers clear Wairarapa early on, Hawkes Bay during the morning, Gisborne in the evening. Cloud breaking once showers clear, southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-12

Wellington

Early showers clear then sunny spells increase, light southerlies.
High: 9-10

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds. Tasman may have some cloud with the risk of a shower.
Highs: 8-12

Canterbury

Sunny, heavy frosts to start inland. Evening cloud for Banks Peninsula. Light winds.
Highs: 5-11

West Coast

Partly cloudy, a few showers for Buller (mainly coastal) clear from the south afternoon on wards. Light winds.
Highs: 9-12

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny, frosty to start, heavy inland. Afternoon cloud and the risk of a light coastal shower for Southland as winds tend westerly.
Highs: 7-10
