A high pressure system starts to move in today bringing settled weather, still a few showers to go in the east / northeast.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning cloud clears Waikato and Bay Of Plenty then mostly sunny, Coromandel and northern Auckland sees cloud with a few showers by midday, clearing in the afternoon, showers mid afternoon and into the evening for Northland as a weak trough pushes northwards. Southeasterlies tend east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 18 – 21

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any morning cloud clears then sunny, southeasterlies die out later in the day.
Highs: 13 – 19

Eastern North Island

Cloudy periods and a few showers, clearing in the afternoon with sunny areas increasing. Wairarapa has morning cloud then becoming mostly sunny. Breezy southwesterlies die out later in the day.
Highs: 14 – 17

Wellington

Early showers clear then mostly sunny, breezy southerlies die out overnight.
Highs: 13 – 15

Marlborough & Nelson

Any early showers clear Marlborough then mostly sunny with southerlies tending easterly in the afternoon. Nelson has mostly sunny weather, a few afternoon clouds about the ranges, light winds tend northerly after midday.
Highs: 16 – 17

Canterbury

Morning cloud, a few showers Banks Peninsula northwards then clearing to mostly sunny conditions. Gentle southerlies tend to the east late afternoon.
Highs: 14 – 21

West Coast
Mostly sunny, a few afternoon clouds where there is the low risk of an isolated shower. Light winds.
Highs: 17 – 20

Southland & Otago
Sunny after a cold start, light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 14 – 21
