A weak front lies over the North Island today and may bring a few showers between Auckland and Taranaki for a time in the west, mid afternoon isolated showers look likely in the northeast around Bay Of Plenty through to northern Hawkes Bay. The South Island is looking fairly settled, showers on the West Coast clear from most areas around midday becoming restricted to Fiordland.

Any morning showers clear in the west with sunny areas then increasing, west to southwest breezes. Sunny in Wellington with northerly breezes. Light winds about Wairarapa with mostly sunny skies, some morning high cloud may clear. Light winds about Hawkes Bay with sunny areas and some cloud, isolated showers develop about northern Hawkes Bay in the afternoon especially about the ranges where one or two showers could be heavy then clearing at night.
HIGHS: 22-24 in the West, 27-30 in the east
