High pressure sits out to the east of New Zealand today while a humid northerly airflow lies over the country. The North Island is likely to see cloudy areas and a few showers especially afternoon in inland areas and a similar situation is in store for the upper South Island. About Otago and Southland conditions are looking rather pleasant.

Lower North Island
Mostly cloudy skies although there may be a few sunny areas, winds tending northerly, northeasterly on the east coast. The odd light shower about but dry areas also, dry in Kapiti and Wellington. During the afternoon showers may become a bit heavier in inland areas, possibly even thundery then easing at night.
HIGHS: 23-26 in the west, 22-24 in the east

Hi, i see Metvuw.com have a long range forecast for next Friday of an ex-tropical cyclone bearing down onto of NZ…Any comments??
