Partly cloudy, the odd shower, mainly in the east. Rain moves into Northland late afternoon then spreading south to reach Auckland around midnight. Northeasterly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, there may be a few showers about Taranaki, rain overnight. Kapiti has some mid level cloud. Light north to northeasterly winds.

Eastern North Island

Sunny with some high cloud from afternoon, light northerlies, winds tend northeast near the coast in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-16

Wellington

Partly cloudy with northerly winds, breezy through Cook Strait.
Highs: 13-14

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly cloudy, Marlborough may have some morning sun. A few spits of rain or showers from afternoon, rain overnight for Nelson. North to northwesterly winds.

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with a touch of high cloud, morning frosts especially inland. Northerly winds, tending northeast near the coast.

West Coast

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower possible, rain moves into Fiordland around midday then spreading elsewhere at night. Northeasterly winds.

Southland & Otago
A mainly sunny morning after a frosty start, some cloud towards midday. Northerly winds, winds tend northeast in the afternoon for coastal Otago.
